Recognise the problem

One sighting tells part of the story. A pattern tells us more.

Let us know how often you see cockroaches, whether they are large or small and which rooms are affected. A single visitor does not tell us how many are hiding or which service you need.

01 / LIVE ACTIVITY

Repeated sightings in the same area

Make a note of cockroaches near cupboards, sinks or appliances, particularly after dark. Small cockroaches appearing repeatedly in a kitchen deserve a closer look, rather than being treated as isolated visitors.

02 / LEFT BEHIND

Droppings, skins and egg cases

Dark specks or smears, discarded skins and capsule-like egg cases can help identify activity. Show your technician where you found them. A photograph can be useful before the area is cleaned.

03 / LOCATIONS

Activity away from the kitchen

Mention sightings in bathrooms, laundries, bedrooms, garages or roof areas as well. Their location helps guide the inspection; it should not be used on its own to guess the size of an infestation.

What to include in your quote request

Your suburb, property type, where you see cockroaches, their approximate size and any products already used. If you can take a clear photo without moving equipment or reaching into a hidden space, it may help with identification.

Small cockroaches in the kitchen?

German cockroaches need closer attention.

An established indoor infestation can need more work than a routine general pest treatment.

Tell us about the kitchen activity →

They use small, sheltered spaces

German cockroaches often gather in warm kitchen hiding places around cupboards and appliances. Seeing them near the fridge or sink helps us decide where to inspect, but identification is still important.

Treatment needs to reach the active areas

We discuss where baits or other suitable products can be placed, what access is needed and which areas you should leave undisturbed. Spraying only the cockroaches in view does not address every hiding place.

Progress needs to be checked

For an established problem, ask what monitoring and follow-up are proposed. A review can help determine whether activity has reduced, where it remains and whether further work is needed. Any included visits are confirmed in your quote.

Your cockroach treatment

What happens at your appointment

We inspect the reported activity, explain the proposed treatment and confirm the price before starting. The service depends on the species, the property and the extent of the problem.

Inspect the places cockroaches are using

Show us the areas where you have seen activity and tell us about recent treatments. We inspect accessible hiding places and discuss any areas that cannot be reached safely, including around appliances and building services.

Confirm the service and preparation

We explain the treatment areas, access requirements and price. Tell us about children, pets, aquariums, food preparation and any household concerns so these can be considered before the work begins.

Treat the problem areas

Depending on the assessment, treatment may include gel baits, suitable non-repellent applications or dusts in appropriate locations. Product choice and placement follow the label and the conditions at your property. Your technician explains the approach being used.

Provide the report and next steps

Your digital report records the service and recommendations. We explain what to monitor, how to care for the treated areas and when to contact us. Any follow-up work or warranty cover is set out for the service you book.

Cockroach identification

The species helps explain where to look.

These are useful starting points, not a diagnosis from size or colour alone. Young cockroaches can look different from adults.

Indoor kitchens

German cockroaches

Small, tan to light brown adults with two dark stripes behind the head. They are strongly associated with indoor kitchen activity. Repeated sightings warrant an assessment of the nearby hiding places.

Warm, damp locations

American cockroaches

Large, reddish-brown cockroaches that can use sewers, subfloors and other sheltered building spaces. Tell us whether they appear indoors, outside or around service areas.

Often outdoors

Australian cockroaches

Dark brown adults with yellow markings, often associated with gardens and sheltered outdoor areas. They can enter buildings and use roof, wall or subfloor spaces.

Not every cockroach is a household pest.

Australia has many native cockroaches that live in leaf litter, soil and vegetation. An outdoor sighting does not automatically call for treatment. We can help distinguish pest activity from insects simply living in the garden.

Before & after treatment

A little preparation helps us reach the right places.

Follow the instructions provided for your appointment and the products used. Ask before emptying every cupboard, moving heavy appliances or cleaning a treated area.

Before your appointment

  • Tell us where activity is most frequent and which sprays, baits or foggers you have already used.
  • Put away exposed food, utensils and pet bowls as directed.
  • Clear access to the affected areas without moving connected or heavy equipment yourself.
  • Let us know about locked rooms, tenant access and any food-business operating hours.
  • Confirm arrangements for children and pets, including any areas they will need to avoid.

After your appointment

  • Follow the advised exclusion, drying and re-entry instructions.
  • Leave bait placements and monitoring devices where the technician has put them.
  • Ask us before adding household sprays or other pest products near treated areas.
  • Keep a note of continuing activity: where it appears, when and roughly how much.
  • Contact us at the agreed review point, or sooner if you have a concern about the treatment.

How quickly should you see a change?

The response depends on the method and the infestation. Baits act gradually, so a lack of immediate knockdown does not by itself mean the service has failed. We discuss a monitoring period for your property rather than promising that every cockroach will be gone within a fixed number of days.

Reduce the reasons they return

Food, water and hiding places all matter.

Store food in sealed containers, remove crumbs and grease, and keep rubbish contained. Repair leaks and reduce unnecessary cardboard or clutter around food-storage areas. Ask which entry gaps need attention and when to seal them around the treatment.

Cockroaches & hygiene

Deal with ongoing activity around food.

Cockroach activity in food preparation and storage areas needs attention. Some people can also react to cockroach allergens, including proteins in their droppings and saliva. Pest management and appropriate cleaning both have a role.

Tell us if the affected area has particular access or cleaning requirements so these can be discussed when planning the service.

Commercial cockroach control

A kitchen needs more than a one-off spray.

For restaurants, cafés, food stores and other workplaces, tell us where activity has been found, the operating hours and any access restrictions. We can discuss a treatment plan and ongoing service arrangements suited to the site.

Useful records include inspection dates, activity found, controls used and recommended repairs or cleaning. Keep staff observations with the pest-management records so changes can be followed between visits.

Food-business pest control also depends on preventing entry and removing places pests can live. Treatment does not replace routine cleaning, maintenance or the business’s food-safety responsibilities.

Common questions

Cockroach control, explained.

Start with what you have noticed. You do not need to identify the species or choose a product before speaking to us.

Ask about your cockroach problem →
Does general pest treatment include German cockroaches?

Do not assume an established German cockroach infestation is covered by the general pest starting price. Describe the activity before booking so we can confirm whether you need a separate service and what follow-up is proposed.

Does seeing one cockroach mean I have an infestation?

Not necessarily. The species, location and pattern of sightings matter. Tell us if sightings are becoming frequent or you are also finding young cockroaches, droppings or egg cases. That gives us more useful information than a single sighting alone.

Will treatment kill all the eggs?

Cockroaches produce egg cases. A treatment plan should account for the life cycle and continuing activity rather than assume a single application reaches every insect or egg. Your technician explains the monitoring and follow-up needed for the problem found.

Should I use a cockroach bomb before you arrive?

Tell us about any products already used. Foggers and aerosols may not reach hidden cockroaches and can disperse them. Ask us before using another product so we can advise on preparation for your appointment.

Are treatments suitable for homes with children and pets?

We plan the service around the property and explain the precautions for the chosen products. Tell us about children, pets and aquariums when booking. Follow the specific access and re-entry instructions rather than assuming treated areas are immediately available.

Do I need to empty every cupboard?

Not automatically. Preparation depends on the areas being treated. We will discuss what needs clearing before the appointment. Do not disconnect appliances or dismantle cupboards to prepare for an inspection.

Is there a warranty or a free follow-up?

Where a Pest Free Warranty applies, your service agreement sets out the covered pests, period and return-visit conditions. Ask us to confirm whether any scheduled follow-up is included in your quote. No fixed warranty length is assumed for every cockroach service.

Can you treat an apartment or rental property?

Yes, we service units, apartments and rental properties. Provide access details and describe all affected rooms. If the assessment points to activity in shared areas, we can discuss what may need to be raised with the property manager or body corporate.
