Help with nests around your property
Wasp Control & Nest Removal Brisbane Get the nest checked.
A nest under the eaves, beside the door or near the kids’ play area needs a careful approach. Debugged Pest Control assesses the wasp activity, confirms access and explains the treatment and removal options for your property.
Servicing Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich, Redlands, Moreton Bay and the Gold Coast.
Describe the location from a safe distance. Illustration only.
While you arrange a visit
Give the nest some space.
A nest near a busy doorway or outdoor area is different from an occasional wasp passing through. Tell us what you have seen without getting closer to investigate.
Change the route people use
Keep people and pets away from the nest and use another entrance if practical. Tell others who use the property where the activity is, particularly around shared paths, play equipment or outdoor seating.
Avoid disturbing the nest
Do not knock it down, hose it, burn it or try to treat it from a ladder. Keep gardening and other work away from the immediate area until the activity has been assessed.
A few details help us plan
Tell us the approximate height, whether the nest is visible and how close it is to doors or frequently used spaces. A photo helps if you can take one from a safe position; it is not worth approaching the nest for a better image.
Identify before deciding
Not every wasp nest needs the same response.
Wasps vary in their behaviour and nesting habits. We consider what is present and how the space is used, rather than treating every sighting as a large colony.
Paper wasps
Paper wasps use chewed plant fibres to build nests. Exposed cells may be visible beneath sheltered structures or on vegetation. Avoid disturbing an occupied nest, especially where people pass close by.
Mud-dauber wasps
Mud-daubers build mud cells and are solitary wasps, rather than large social colonies. A mud nest on a shed or wall needs identification and a location assessment; it does not automatically mean the property has an aggressive swarm.
Wasps, bees or something else?
If you are unsure what you are seeing, say so when you contact us. Repeated activity at a gap may need closer assessment. We discuss the next step after identification, including whether a different service is appropriate.

A few wasps around flowers do not locate a nest.
Tell us whether insects are simply visiting plants or repeatedly returning to one particular point. Avoid following them into dense vegetation or enclosed spaces. The aim is to describe the pattern from somewhere you can remain safely.
Your wasp control appointment
Assess the nest. Agree on the work.
We discuss the activity, access and nearby people or animals before recommending treatment. Physical nest removal and any return visit are explained as part of the agreed scope.
Confirm the activity and location
Show us the affected area from a safe position. Tell us about other suspected nests, previous sprays and any sting incidents. We assess the insects, nest site and access conditions.
Explain the scope and price
We confirm the proposed treatment, preparation and exclusion area before work starts. High nests, concealed locations or multiple nests may need different arrangements, which are discussed in the quote.
Treat where appropriate
The approach depends on the identified activity and site conditions. Any pesticide application follows the product label and agreed precautions. People and pets stay outside the treatment area as directed.
Confirm removal and aftercare
We explain whether the nest can be physically removed, when that can happen and what to monitor afterwards. Any access limits, follow-up arrangements and warranty conditions are made clear for the service you book.
Inside a roof or wall?
The entry point may be all you can see.
Repeated insect traffic at one opening is useful information, even when the nest itself is hidden.
Leave openings as they are
Do not seal a suspected active entry point or open the cavity yourself. Tell us which opening is being used so the activity and the safest way to assess it can be discussed.
Explain the access before booking
Mention upper-storey eaves, enclosed roof spaces, neighbouring property boundaries or restricted work areas. We confirm what can be reached safely and whether additional access arrangements are needed.
Separate treatment from building work
Physical removal from a concealed space may require access that is outside the pest service. Any opening-up, repairs or later sealing should be discussed separately, including timing after the activity has been addressed.
Make the visit easier
Before treatment and afterwards
Follow the instructions provided for your booking. The safe distance and time before an area can be used again depend on the site and treatment.
Before we arrive
- Keep the immediate nest area clear of people and pets.
- Tell us about known sting allergies before the visit.
- Arrange access through a route away from the activity.
- Mention aquariums, ponds and nearby food areas.
- Let staff, tenants or other occupants know the visit is planned.
After the service
- Keep clear until the advised time has passed.
- Do not touch the nest or treated surfaces unless instructed.
- Check before cleaning, removing material or sealing gaps.
- Note continuing activity from a safe position.
- Contact us if activity persists beyond the period discussed.
New activity deserves a fresh look.
Tell us whether wasps are returning to the treated location or using a different part of the property. That distinction helps us review the service and advise what comes next.
Common questions
Wasp treatment, explained.
Practical answers about nests, access and the work involved.
Ask about your wasp problem →How much does wasp nest treatment cost?
The price depends on the location, height, access, number of nests and work required. Send your suburb and a description of the activity. We confirm the scope and price before treatment starts.
Is nest removal included with treatment?
We explain this in the quote. An exposed, accessible nest is different from one inside a sealed cavity. Physical removal may take place separately from treatment, or may be limited by access. Ask what is included for your site.
Can you treat a nest under second-storey eaves?
Tell us the approximate height and what is beneath the nest. We assess safe access and any equipment or additional arrangements required before confirming the work. Do not use a ladder to inspect it yourself.
Can you come today?
Call with the location and describe any immediate access problem, such as a nest beside the only entrance. We will confirm the next available appointment. Keep clear of the activity while the visit is arranged.
Do I need to leave the property?
We confirm the arrangements for people and pets before treatment. You may need to avoid an area or leave for a specified period depending on the work. Follow the instructions given for your booking.
Are all wasps aggressive?
No. Wasps have different behaviours, and solitary mud-daubers are different from nest-defending social wasps. Identification and nest location help determine whether intervention is appropriate. Avoid disturbing an unfamiliar nest.
What if the insects turn out to be bees?
Tell us if you are uncertain when making the enquiry. We assess identification before recommending wasp treatment and discuss whether another service, such as help from a beekeeper, is more appropriate. Do not disturb the colony.
Will you return free if wasps come back?
Any warranty, included return visit and exclusions are confirmed for your booking. Contact us with the service date and location of continuing activity so we can review it. A new nest elsewhere is not automatically the same issue.
